Vehicles in German City Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Law Enforcement
Authorities mentioned they were alerted by a individual who noticed a car in Hanau smeared with reddish liquid

Around fifty vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postboxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.

Officers state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.

The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they added.

Officers then located many other vandalized cars and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police report early analysis suggest the substance was likely blood from a person.

"Currently there is no clue as to its origin; investigators are currently not informed of any physical harm in association with the event," they stated.

Local authorities said they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the community for information.

A high-ranking representative stated the vandalism left him speechless and needed to be resolved rapidly.

"This event strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on online, referring to the death of nine victims by a gunman focusing on people of migrant background in 2020.
