“That was regrettable. It was essentially an interaction with our fans seated near me,” Jones explained during a Tuesday interview. “There was a large group of Cowboys fans—not New York fans, our fans. The whole venue was filled with excitement for the Cowboys.”
He further clarified that the signal was completely accidental, occurring amid the elation following the team’s last score. “I simply put up the incorrect digit,” he remarked. “The action was accidentally done. I’m not kidding. Should you call it accidental, you can. But it got corrected rapidly.”
